As we’re coming off of the new moon in Pisces I think it’s safe to say a lot of us have been experiencing dreams recently that are weird, intense and a little bit freaky at times. As we move into the tumultuous astrological energy of March and eclipse season, I really can’t think of a better time to root into a grounded dreamwork and journaling practice.
Our daily experiences have influence over our dream sleep in a variety of ways. What we’ve seen cant be replicated in the imagery that of our dreams and sometimes our emotions that still need processing, especially fears and anxiety can become fuel for nightmares.
Between the 24 hour news cycle, the shock and awe campaign from the white house, seeing so many firsthand POV of numerous weather disasters, plane crashes and mysterious drones over the past few months— we can’t seem to catch a break and it’s not surprising that some of this imagery and emotions about them have trickled into our dreams and nightmares at night.
One of the best things about developing a grounded dream work practice is discovering that even our scariest nightmares can contain very meaningful and hopeful messages and guidance for our waking life, but it can take a little digging in order to find them.
It felt like the perfect time to create a dream journal template, which I’ve made available to download on Gumroad. This template can be used by anyone, whether your brand new to your dreamwork practice or experienced and looking for ways to expand or ground your existing practice. The download includes a blank template and an entry example.
In case you missed it, I also recommend checking out my previous post How to Start a Grounded Dreamwork Practice, which may offer more insight on how to optimize the template for your practice.
